T.O. Music Pix on CKLN:
A reminder that I’ll be doing a guest spot on Paul Corby’s “Corby’s Orbit” show on CKLN Friday, Aug. 12 around 1pm, featuring some music and talk.

Also on the Internet this week
While on the topic of Internet radio shows, I’m currently listening to DJ Ritu’s latest “A World In London” show. (Listen here)

She began that show several years ago on BBC Radio London, taking over the timeslot of the late Charlie Gillett when he became ill. It featured a range of “world” and other music, reflecting the mix of sounds found in London.

A couple of years ago, the BBC axed the show, preferring talk to music on Radio London. She’s found an online home, and this week’s show, besides her music selections also talks about the events happening in London.

Human Rights CD for kids
Putamayo has released a new CD, Kids World Party. From Putamayo website:

What better way to introduce young children to human rights – and the values of fairness, equity, empathy and non-violence — than through upbeat music from all over the world?

That’s the thinking behind Kids World Party!, the latest CD from Putumayo Kids, released in partnership with Amnesty International to celebrate our 50th anniversary. 7% of each CD sale will be donated to support Amnesty’s life-saving work.
