Les Paul
He's deservedly received extensive coverage everywhere
following his death this week. The only person who is a member
of Grammy Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll hall of Fame, the
National Inventors Hall of Fame and the National Broadcasters
Hall of Fame.
Here's a 10 minute
YouTube
excerpt from an award-winning full-length
documentary about him
Baaba
Maal returning to town
He gets to Toronto only once every 5 years, and so although
it's months away, his April, 2010 concert in the new Koerner Hall is reserved seating, so you might want to check it
out
here. (And unfortunately, it is a "seated" show).
Photo is from his last Toronto appearance at the Phoenix in
April, 2004.
Finally
A
brief interview in this week's NOW with K'Naan prior
to his Saturday night Molson Amphitheatre concert
(Ticketmaster). And don't forget the huge IndigenUs festival
this weekend and next at Harbourfront (and elsewhere). Info is
here.
See www.to-music.ca/events.htm
for details on these and other shows.
