1. BLACK UMFOLOSI ON METRO MORNING: Wed. Feb 8
I understand there will be an interview with the group (or some members) sometime on Wednesday's Metro Morning (6-8:30am, CBC Radio One, 99.1 FM). If you miss it, it will probably be posted later that day at http://www.cbc.ca/metromorning/

Of course, they're playing this Friday at the Lula. It'll be a great venue to see them. See www.lula.ca.

2. TINARIWEN ON "THE WORLD IN PERFORMANCE": Fri. Feb. 10
This Friday, CBC Radio 2 (94.1, 8-10pm) broadcasts last summer's Harbourfront show by the great Touareg group, along with other (recorded) Malian music. http://www.cbc.ca/theworldinperformance/thisweek.html It has a few Tinariwen links. • Feb. 24: Winter Bana Y'Africa with Fojeba, Show Do Man, Adam Solomon & Tikisa and Tamsir Seck at the Tranzac Club. All for $10.
