This was the CD release for Light the Flame, the second CD by Grupo Vocal Desandann, held at Ellington's on St. Clair. The 8 members of the acapella group from Camaguey, Cuba are all descended from Haitian immigrants, and much of their music is rooted in Haitian creole traditional sounds and rhythms. Their voices -- individual or harmony -- are beautiful and unique.
